A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average
Curveball
Hammer+
A hammer breaking ball drops vertically with velocity through the zone, or 12-to-6 movement. Hammer+ of 100 is MLB average.
Curveball
Sweep+
A sweeping breaking ball moves horizontally with velocity through the zone. Sweep+ of 100 is MLB average.
The reactive strength index measurement of an athlete's explosiveness by comparing their jump height to the ground contact time in between their jumps. On a scale of 0-5.
Vertical Jump
A measure of any athlete's body strength and reach calculated from the flight time divided by the contact time.
The highest Edge Score within the given year. Edge Score is a comprehensive score that takes the core-six visual skills into account, providing an assessment of an athlete’s overall visual ability.
LHP/OF Anthony Kilimnik (Joliet Catholic, 2027) is a trim, high-waisted, and athletic 5-foot-9, 146-pound prospect to know. His arm is athletic and clean from a high ¾ slot, paired with a loose delivery. His fastball was clean out of the hand with carry, playing in the upper 70’s (T79.9 mph). Kilimnik’s curveball was arguably his best pitch of the event, showing 1/7 action, feel to spin, and strong feel for the strike zone (75% strikes). He would then go to a low 70’s slider that flashed feel to spin (avg. 2327 rpm) with 3/9 shape and feel for the zone. Kilimnik would round out his arsenal with a 72-74 mph changeup that played with downer fade. On the other side of the ball, the left-handed hitter showed a smooth and easy stroke that works on top of the baseball and up the middle of the field. He showed advanced actions in the outfield with bounce and fluid footwork, pairing with confident hands. Strong arm from a crow hop, reaching up to 82 mph.
