9.16.18 - Currently ranked No. 58 in the Illinois’ 2020 class. 6-foot-4, 180-pound, right-handed pitcher with long-legs, high-waist, projectable build. Created some buzz with his performance on the final day of the event. Pronounced, slow-paced delivery, lands square, some effort and acceleration at foot strike, finishes towards first base. Arm works long, loose and quick from a ¾ slot. Worked primarily off his fastball/curveball combination. Fastball, more control than command at this point, comes out of the hand clean. Gets natural run and sinking action when he works down in the zone, sat 83-86 mph, touched 87 early on. Settled in at 83-84 mph after the first couple of innings. Curveball is a legitimate secondary pitch. Can throw it for strikes and tighten it for swings and misses with two strikes; natural 11/5 plane but did vary in shape at times, good spin, ranged 69-76 mph. Struck out five of the first six hitters he faced. High-upside right-handed arm with plenty more in the tank.
