2/21/21
Another prospect who made a strong impression in his PBR debut was INF/RHP Timmy O’Brien (Maine South). The 6-foot-3, 185-pound, right-handed hitter, has been the starting shortstop on varsity since his sophomore season while hitting towards the top of the order. O’Brien ran a 6.88 60 and showed an easy, loose, balanced swing with a knack for the barrel during his round of BP. O’Brien also got on the mound and showed off a short, easy arm action and a fastball up to 84 mph.
5/15/19
6-foot-1, 160-pound, right-handed hitting infielder; long frame, loose-bodied, plenty of room for continued physical development. Starts at shortstop and hit in the two-hole. Defensively, easy infield actions, steady, sure-hands, never seems to be in a hurry. Can play on the move, maintains body control. Consistently made picking throws in the dirt look easy; impressed on a 2-6 caught stealing, picking a throw at second base and putting a tag down on a potential base stealer. Arm works loose and clean, minimal effort and enough arm strength to stick on the left side of the diamond, plays accurate. At the plate, wide, slightly crouched setup, short stride. Swing projects, simple swing, hands work on top and stay short to the ball, long through the zone at times. Finished 0-for-3 with a walk. Follow 2021 middle infielder.
