Eastern Illinois commit. Stands in an athletic and projectable frame at 6-foot-3, 185-pounds, showing room to fill. Got the start on the mound and impressed over five innings of work, striking out eight, allowing no runs, one hit, and walking three. The right-hander has a simple, repeatable delivery, showing athleticism as he works down the mound. He moves into a high leg lift with a leg tuck, into a drop and drive delivery, working on-line. He has a loose, fluid arm out of a ¾ slot. He sat mostly at 84-86 mph, topping at 87 mph with his fastball throughout. His fastball featured carry through the zone, flashing late arm-side run, consistently getting on hitters resulting in a number of swing and misses. His changeup was his go-to secondary offering throughout. The changeup is thrown with fastball intent and from the same slot, showing some fade and depth at 76-79 mph. Wilcox gave an impressive look in his first start of the season for the Hornets.
