PBR 2010 Player of the Year. ... pound Conlon led the Redhawks to the Class 4A state championship by going 12-0 with a 1.45 ERA. In 82 innings, he struck out 122 and walked 13. At the plate, the left-handed hitter batted .430 with a team-leading 61 hits, 15 doubles, three triples and two home runs. He drove in 28 and scored 46 runs. Defensively, no one played a better first base. Committed to Kansas State ... During his junior season, Conlon established himself as one of the states best two-way talents. Not only did the left-hander post a 9-1 record on the mound, but he proved to be one of the finest defensive first basemen weve seen since former St. Rita standout Ryne White, and always seemed to deliver in the clutch (16 doubles and 4 homers). But his spring was only a sliver of the successes Conlon achieved during the summer months. His amazing summer began with a complete-game shutout against OFallon in the Class 4A state semifinals for St. Rita. Later, Conlon earned MVP of the CABA World Series as he led his summer team, Top Tier, to the championship. A week later, he helped St. Rita to the IHSBCA summer title by pitching six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts. A Naperville resident, Conlon decided in August to transfer to Naperville Central. ... Went 5-0 on the mound as a sophomore.
