6/05/24
Uncommitted. Listed at 6-foot-1, 140-pounds with plenty of room to fill out the frame; started on the mound for the Indians in the Regional Final. The sophomore battled throughout his start and only made a few mistake pitches in his outing; while showing some upside throughout. His fastball played in the 80-82 mph range, and he would go to a 12/6 curveball that had depth through the zone for swing and miss. Mabie collected five strikeouts over his four innings of work and will be a sophomore to continue to follow.

Mabie, another sophomore that saw time on varsity last spring, will look to add depth to the rotation. In four games last season, Mabie turned in a quality 2.90 ERA in 9.2 innings pitched, striking out 13 along the way. Listed at 6-foot-1, 140-pounds, the slender right-hander has much more in the tank, and we saw him well this past summer with a fastball up to 80 mph that set up a 12/6 curveball to collect swings and misses. Mabie also has some high-leverage innings to his name already, having made the start in last year's Super-Sectional game.

7/03/23

Mabie gave an upside look during his Semifinal start on Monday. Projects well, standing at 6-foot-2, 140-pounds. Easy mover on the mound with a clean and fluid arm action. Fastball mostly worked in the high-70s, topping out at 80 mph. Flashed a 12/6 curveball using his over-the-top arm slot that had late bite down in the zone. A right-handed arm that should only get better with plenty of room for added strength.
