Standing at, 5-foot-9, 140-pounds, Hammond had a dominant performance on the mound Sunday afternoon against the Sparks. The right-handed pitcher tossed six innings allowing three earned runs, nine hits, and two walks while striking out five. Hammond commanded the zone well, attacking hitters and getting into favorable counts. He was able to generate whiffs, but also let his defense work for him, not afraid to throw in the zone. The righty had a fluid motion that was followed by a quick whippy arm that put life on the ball out of the hand. His fastball was sitting 77-81 mph while the curveball was sitting 66-68mph. The fastball had glove-side run and paired well with his curveball. The curveball was heavily used during the entirety of his outing being able to freeze hitters and create off-balanced swings.
