LHP Michael Bailey (Marian Catholic, 2024) gave an upside look when he got to toe-the-rubber for the first matchup of the tournament. Standing at a lean and projectable 6-foot-2, 170-pounds, Bailey ran his fastball up to 81 mph and maintained his velocity throughout his start. He added in a fading changeup to keep hitters guessing. After working through a bumpy first inning, he settled in and dominated the rest of the way. He finished with a dozen strikeouts and retired 11 of the final 12 batters he faced.
