Parkland College signee. Maize showed to be an athletic left-handed bat to monitor as he enters the JUCO ranks next fall. Throughout the weekend, he impressed with his overall presence in the box with a calm confidence about him and ability to make hard contact, while also showing to be a fluid defender in left field for Conant. In the Championship Game, he spoiled the shutout, swatting a solo home run to right field with a strong and quick swing through the zone. He also has a football background and was the starting quarterback for Conant in the fall. Maize is a name who emerged earlier in the spring for our staff, and continued to play well down the stretch for the Cougars as he closed out his high school career.

Strong, upside frame with a high waist, listed at 6-foot-1, 185-pounds. The left-handed hitter hit out of the four hole for the Cougars and recorded two hits on the day, including a ringing double and two runs scored. At the plate, he has quick, strong hands that work through the zone with a flat path; confident look with a simple load that allows him to be on-time, showed the ability to cover the plate by taking a pitch on the outer-half over the second-baseman for a double.
