Uncommitted. Strong, physically built 6-foot-2, 205-pound athlete. Started on the mound for Edwardsville against O’Fallon, allowing two hits over five innings of work while striking out five. Works exclusively out of the stretch, front hip coils inward as lead leg lifts, tucked onto his backside at balance point, gets down the mound in a tall/fall pattern. Stays closed to footstrike with a strong front side, finishes onto a firm lead leg and lands square to target. Arm plays with some length and reach on the backside, over-the-top slot. Fastball touched 88 three times early, holding 85-87 mph throughout his start. Heavy, bowling ball like action, worked best down at the zone and will induce plenty of ground balls at the next level. Showed a 72-73 mph breaking ball with slurvy action off a 2/8 plane, landed it for strikes on occasion with some feel to back foot it to right-handed hitters. Threw four changeups at 80 mph. Remains one of the top senior arms on the market in Illinois.
6-foot-2, 205-pound strong, physical athlete. Started on the mound for Edwardsville in a win against St. Joseph-Ogden. Simple mover downhill, lead leg lifts to an athletic balance point, gets onto his backside and works down the mound in a tall/fall pattern. Stays closed to footstrike with a strong front side, finishes onto a firm lead leg with a square finish through release. Long arm action, over-the-top arm slot. Fastball played heavy at 83-85 mph, grabbing 86 mph a few times early, and played effectively down in the zone for strikes. Sweeping slider with depth, 69-70 mph, and turned over a 76-77 mph changeup on occasion. A high academic uncommitted southpaw from the state’s southern part.
Uncommitted, currently ranked No. 184 in the Illinois 2023 class. Strong-looking 6-foot-2, 205-pound frame, developed lower-half. The southpaw’s arm works short out of the glove into a high ¾ slot, curling his wrist slightly throughout his arm circle. Down the mound, Geggus starts with a bend in his back-knee, pre-setting a slight drop/drive lower-half that works in-line with the plate, remaining tall at foot strike. His fastball worked in the 82-85 mph range, playing with some run to his arm-side. He paired a 70-73 mph slider off his fastball, playing with 10/4 shape and sharp action at times.
