Athletic-framed shortstop with lean build at 6-foot-2, 175 pounds. Began the day with a 6.86 sixty showing a shorter stride while running with an upright posture. Athletic actions, but raw footwork and fair hands on the dirt. Below average arm strength (81 mph) with inconsistent accuracy across the diamond. In the batter’s box, McAlister showed a short load, steep swing with some lift produced a top exit speed of 97 mph during BP and a top distance of 369’. All hard contact was to his pull side. Had some trouble recognizing and adjusting to spin during game action.
Ohio State commit. 6-foot-1, 175-pound shortstop, athletic frame with lean strength for age. Right-handed hitter, athletic hands, well above average bat speed, short loose swing, ball jumps off the bat at times, showed opposite field pop in game with a double to right.

Ohio State commit, currently ranked 43 in Illinois, 6-foot-2, 175-pound, athletic build; will continue to fill out. Leader, highly athletic, competitive, and confident. McAlister leads with his play. Offensively he stands tall in the box, short stride, has short direct swing which allows him to get the barrel to the ball. Line drive, gap-to-gap approach with power to the gaps. Plays the game fast and aggressively, has turned several singles into doubles with his aggressiveness out of the box. Defensively, smooth fielding shortstop attacks the ball aggressively and fires accurate throws to the target. Loose, quick arm, quick feet, soft hands, throws from multiple angles. His athleticism allows him to move quickly and fluidly from left to right. Making plays on the move is when McAlister is in his comfort zone.
