3.21.15 - 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-hander currently ranked No. 38 in Illinois’ 2015 class. Fastball sat 87-89 mph in first inning of work, exhibiting arm side run. Works from a long, loose, high ¾ arm slot, minimal effort, slow and controlled delivery, lower half stays in line with home plate, land foot slightly open at times at foot strike. Gosbeth allowed six unearned runs in two innings of work, striking out four, allowing two hits, and three walks, was not helped out by five errors. Curveball sat 74-75 mph, slurvy action, lands for strikes. 78-82 mph changeup flashed plus sinking action, recorded a swinging strikeout. Committed to Illinois-Chicago, and despite the rough outing, Gosbeth has high upside on the mound, with more possible velocity in the tank as the weather warms up.

Comments
2.28.15 - Committed to Illinois-Chicago.
2.24.15 - Gosbeth has wide shoulders and a lean, athletic frame at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds. He reportedly touched 84 last fall, but has seen a spike in velocity this winter, sitting 87-90 and touching 91 multiple times in a recent bullpen session. He has an effortless delivery with a long, loose arm action from a high-3/4 slot. His shoulders close off at times, making his command to his glove side inconsistent, but his stuff is easy and electric. His breaking ball is more of a power slurve, sitting 76-78 with late action. He also flashes an 82-83 changeup with sink.
