4/16/13 - Athletic frame and build. Athletic delivery, front side opens early, soft front side. Arm action is clean, shorter back side arm swing. Arm slot sits between high ¾ and an over the top slot. Fastball sits at 81-84 mph, athleticism showed the ability to hold his velocity for the majority of his outing. Fastball is mostly straight, showed some control at the top of the zone. Breaking ball had 11/5 action, sweeping break, 67-70 mph. Changeup has slight action to arm side, 77 mph. Sims is a very athletic right handed pitcher who shows upside with a quick clean arm action. Command and secondary pitches will need improvement to be effective at the next level. Sims athleticism makes him a highly coveted arm at the next level.
