Displaying an athletic 5-foot-9, 135-pound build with plenty of room for growth, Dalton York helped the Yard Goats 10-run rule Halos North. The lead-off right handed batter went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double while scoring two runs. York could spread the field with a hit to third base, center field, and right-center. He is quick out of the box with his last hit being a ground ball to third base which he beat out. Mechanically, York has an open stance standing far back in the batter’s box, with a short stride and loose hands.

An athletic, 5-foot-9, 135-pound frame, York had an all-around game in the Yard Goats semi-final win Monday morning. The right-hander tossed five and two-thirds innings striking out eight and walking one. He was effective on the mound commanding his two pitches for strikes and getting ahead in counts. York’s fastball was sitting 74-78 mph early in the game, showing late movement in the zone. The curveball was sitting 67-68 mph, still developing but able to be used as a change of pace pitch. With the bat York was able to help himself reach base three times, including two singles. The righty showed a simple contact-driven swing, driving the ball up the middle.
