5.31.17 - Dual commit to Notre Dame for football and baseball. 6-foot-5, 250-pound right-handed hitting left-handed pitcher. Shows intrigue at both the plate and on the mound. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a long arm action. Tall and fall delivery with a closed landing, creating cross fire action. Works fast and pounds the strike zone. Fastball worked 86-88 topping out at 89 mph early on in outing with late sinking action. Settled in at 85-87 mph for the duration of the outing. Slider sat 78-79 mph with late breaking 2-plane action, thrown aggressively with fastball arm speed. Finished the game with 12 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Offensively shows raw power potential at the plate. Upright setup, imposing presence in the box. Uphill swing path, shows strength thru contact. Went 2-4 in game with a three run homerun to dead centerfield and a double. 4.60 runner down the line

5.15.17 - Committed to Notre Dame for football and baseball. 6-foot-5, 250-pound, is a physical presence on the field.  Athletic body, sloped shoulders with muscular arms and legs. Right-handed hitter, left-handed thrower. Defensively, took good routes and reads off the bat in centerfield and showed range in both directions.  Throws were accurate with carry. Took batting practice before the game and showed plus raw power to all fields.  Power bat with an open, upright set up, with pre-pitch rhythm. Loads and separates, has bat speed, ball jumps off the bat.  In game, tendency to chase the breaking ball early on but made an adjustment. Middle of the order, run-producing bat at the next level. 2017 draft follow.

4.18.15 - 6-foot-4, 210-pound athletic OF/LHP impresses with plus frame, already has a football scholarship offer from Louisville as a standout tight end for the Lions. On the mound, fastball sat 79-80 mph from long, loose, high ¾ arm slot. Arm is clean, and with frame/athleticism, easy to project 85-86 mph arm in two years. Showed feel for throwing 65-68 mph slurve, landing it for strikes. Works from the 3B side of the rubber, works across his body, landing slightly closed. Also flashed a 73-74 mph change. Offensively, hits third for Viator. Hits from a wide base, back foot slides out on him at times backwards on swing. Even on front foot, still flashes power potential. Doubled to right center in first game.
