Chipola College commit. Currently ranked No. 120 in Illinois’ class of 2023. The 6-foot, 185-pound right-handed hitting infielder batted in the leadoff spot and played third base for the Caravan. Mallee had two hits in the game both being doubles to left field. The first double came with two strikes and led off the game with a statement. Simple and balanced setup in the box with fluid rhythm and short stride. Quick, athletic hands that can react to pitches being thrown inside while also able to sit back and drive the ball to the opposite field. Defensively, has clean footwork with range to both sides. Made a diving play in the fourth inning to prevent multiple runs from scoring.
3/17/22
Uncommitted right-handed hitting third baseman. Listed at 6-foot, 185-pounds; looked longer and leaner than our last look. Athletic, upside frame with plenty of room for added strength. Fluid movements to all parts of his game. Offensively, stood out over the course of the first two games for the Caravan. Relaxed, calm look in the box with fluid pre-pitch actions and easy effort. Took a number of quality swings on the day but nothing more impressive than timing up a 96 mph fastball and lining it back up the middle for a base hit. Defensively, the arm seemed to be playing easier and with more life than our last look as well. Clean, athletic actions, can make plays on the move and hands work soft. Impressive look at the uncommitted junior.
