6/05/24

TCU commit, ranked No. 12 overall in the state’s 2026 class. 6-foot, 175-pound frame with plenty of room for continued physical development. Turned in arguably the most important and impressive start of his high school career to date, tossing a complete game shutout with one hit allowed - it came in the sixth inning - zero walks, and 12 strikeouts as Edwardsville captured their regional championship. Simple and controlled mover, subtle stack onto his backside and stays on it to front footstrike. Strong front side stays closed, intentful finish onto a stable lead leg, drifts towards the first base side through release. Short compact arm circle that finishes out of a loose, easy, and free high ¾ slot. Fastball comes out clean, touched 88 in the first inning, pitching at 84-87 mph throughout. Worked all quadrants of the zone for strikes, holds plane with natural carry in the upper-third. Spins two different breaking balls; a tight slider at 76-78 mph that’ll flash sharp tilt and pairs well off his fastball, and a bendy 72-73 mph curveball with more vertical drop to it that he landed for strikes. Looked the part of a high-end arm in the state’s sophomore class that will continue to be relied upon as the Tigers make their postseason run.

5/30/24

TCU commit. Eberlin had an impressive game on the mound in their 2-0 win over Collinsville. He threw a complete game with 12 strikeouts, zero walks, zero runs, and one hit allowed.

5/03/24

TCU commit, ranked No. 12 overall in the state’s sophomore class. 6-foot, 175-pound frame with upside levers, young look. Took the mound for the Tigers and hurled five strong innings of one run ball, punching out seven with two hits allowed. Simple tall/fall mover, leg lift draws in to a front hip drift down the mound. Strong glove side tuck, stays closed to front foot strike and finishes over a firm lead leg. Developing directional consistency, in the zone when he stays in line to the plate but does drift toward the first base line at times. Tight arm path, quick on the backside, finishes out of an intentful over-the-top slot with easy arm speed. Fastball comes out true and clean, pitched at 85-87 mph, gets on top and works best downhill in the zone. Continues to show confidence and apt to spin a slider at 76-79 mph with tilt and sharp spin, swing-and-miss potential. A budding arm in the state’s 2026 class that’s taken an expanded role for the Tigers’ pitching staff this spring and is still far away from what his ultimate ceiling on the mound will be.

4/02/24

Texas Christian commit and one of the top sophomores in the state, ranked No. 12 overall in our most recent update to the 2026 class. 6-foot, 175-pound frame that’s tacked on more mass in the last calendar year, though still offers future projection. Helped pitch the Tigers to a win over conference rival O’Fallon, striking out four with three walks and six hits. Allowed all three of his runs in the first inning, battled back and threw four shutout innings afterwards. Simple all-around operation, lead leg lifts and strides slightly across body at footstrike. Intentful at finish, drifts towards the first base side after release. Was in sync more consistently in this look than we’d seen in the past. Loose and continuous arm action on the backside, tight spiral that finishes from an over-the-top window, easy arm speed. Fastball comes out clean, touching 87 mph on a sub-30 degree day, pitching at 83-86 mph throughout his start. Straight action with carry up in the zone at times, some backspin feel. Breaking ball was the separator, confident in it and threw it often as his start went on. Tight sharp spin with bend and late break at 74-75 mph, showed swing-and-miss upside. Did show a changeup at 79-80 mph to left-handed hitters early. An upside arm that could end up being the difference maker for Edwardsville on the mound this spring.

2/11/24
RHP Anthony Eberlin (Edwardsville, IL, 2026; TCU commit) has started to fill out his frame more, now standing at a stronger, more compact 6-foot, 175-pounds. Eberlin is a quick, up-tempo worker on the mound with a short loose arm draw that showed arm speed out front. His fastball plays with jump out the hand and life up in the zone at 87-88 mph and he spins a tight slider with late depth at 75-76 mph, while also turning over a changeup at 78-79 mph.
5/10/23

TCU commit and one of the top arms in the Illinois’ 2026 class. Lanky, high-waisted 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete with plenty of room for physical projection. Started on the mound for the Tigers in a tough matchup against Columbia. Quick upright worker, front hip creates forward momentum down the mound, decelerates quickly onto a firm lead leg, finishes towards the first base side. Still learning how to consistently control his body downhill. Short, compact, and tight arm path, finishes out of a loose high ¾ slot. Fastball backspun up in the zone with life at times, holding 84-86 mph throughout with more to come. Spun his curveball at 73-76 mph, flashed to land it for strikes, gradual action. A high-ceiling arm that should continue to trend upward as he physically matures and gains more control of his levers.

4/26/23

Verbally committed to TCU.

4/19/23

Lean 5-foot-10, 160-pound athlete with plenty of room for physical development. Came out of the ‘pen for the Tigers and hurled a scoreless inning with no hits and a strikeout. Works quick, simple delivery with some sit on his backside, strides across body at times and finishes towards the first base side. Loose quick arm that finishes out of a high ¾ slot, noticeable arm speed. Fastball comes out clean, sat 85-86 mph with some jump up in the zone. Plenty of untapped velocity, has the potential to produce premium heat as he physically matures and gains more comfort moving down the mound. Confidently spun a breaking ball for strikes at 72-74 mph with depth and shape to it, turned to it twice when behind in the count. A high follow name-to-know arm in the state’s 2026 class.
