Penn State commit. 6-foot-1 190-pounds. Strong, athletic, 2-way player. Pop in the swing, simple stride with fast hands. Competitive player. Did not get to see him on the mound. The frame projects well. Showed good discipline at the plate. Pitcher was throwing a slower 12-6 CB that he struggled with early. He was disciplined and looked for his pitch to drive, and did not chase in his later at-bats.
10/01/19
Penn State commit. 6-foot, 175 pounds. Calm delivery that picks up aggression after separation. High front-side and OH slot. One of the more impressive secondary pitches in changeup. Sat 72-74 with very good deception; came out of hand similar to FB. Worked fastball around the zone at 82-85. Set the pace with FB and felt confident in CH with runners on base. Competitive outing.

Penn State commit. 6-foot, 175-pound left-handed pitcher, strong frame, broad shoulders, room for more. Arm works clean and continuous to a ¾ slot, repeats well. Tall and fall delivery, stays tall throughout, lands square, rotational finish, falling off the mound to the third base side. Fastball, mostly straight, sat 81-83, controlled the zone with getting swing and misses. Slurve-like breaking ball at 68-69. Changeup, late fade, 74-75. Feel for all three pitches.
Deep South Invite 10/14/18:
Folds is a strong kid at 6-foot 180-pounds he had easily his best outing in front of the Prep Baseball staff at the Deep South Invite. His fastball was up to 80 MPH and continues to show a good potential future out-pitch in his 12-6 curve-ball. Folds is aggressive to the plate even when he pitches backwards, and carved hitters up in the live game portion of the event. Look for a future quality three pitch mix in the future and an aggressive bulldog type demeanor.
8/11/2018- Peach State Games
The athletic 6-foot left-hander was impressive once again at his second PBR event. Folds uses his powerful body to generate leverage with his fastball (77-79) from his overhand slot. He has natural cut to the pitch and it makes for an uncomfortable look. His curveball shows 12-6 action at (62-63) and his changeup still lacks some commitment at (65). He continues to show promise and it looks like he will be able to use all three of the offerings effectively in the future. He always shows good results and is still a pup on the mound. Will be one to keep an eye on in the 2021 class in Georgia.
6/19/2018- North Georgia Trials
Folds is a 6-foot, 175-pound 2-way player who shows promise on the mound. He has an athletic pitchers frame and pitches from the stretch only, aggressively using a high overhand slot. Folds creates good angle to the plate with his fast ball (78-80). His changeup (68-70) has deception and late sink when down. The curveball flashes good 12-6 type action when he gets out front and on top of it. At the plate, Folds sets up with a balanced straight away stance. And shows strength in a mostly pull approach. He projects to have power in the future and showed a present exit velo of 79 mph. Overall Folds is a good looking young left handed pitcher who has the makings of future stuff and deception. Will be a close follow on the mound going forward.
