6-foot-1 160-pounds. Evans has been one of my favorite young arms for the last couple of years. He has not stopped growing, and is continuing to fill out his long/lanky frame. The velo is climbing, and is getting more and more consistent. In just his second outing of the year he was 83-85 topping out at 86. Over the summer he was 80-83 topping out at 85. Everything is going to continue to tick up for Evans. His breaking ball is much tighter and sharper than the summer. Before it had great spin, but was slow enough for hitters to see it early, now it is a little harder and hitters can’t recognize it out of the hand as quick. The pitch ability will continue to thrive for Evans. He had multiple FB down, CB swing and miss, FB up sequences that even the best varsity hitters will not hit. He is one of the top arms in the 2026 class, and will be high following into the spring and summer for a spot on the ‘23 Future Games squad.
