2021 MLB Draft: After a strong start to the 2021 season (3.32 ERA in 59.2 innings with 82 strikeouts), Webb was injured in mid-May with an elbow injury and missed the remainder of the season. When healthy, he features a low-90s fastball and three putaway secondary pitches: a sharp downer curveball at 75-79 with tight spin in the 2600 rpm range, a solid slider at 81-83 that is particularly effective against lefties, and a very good changeup at 83-85 that can be a major weapon against righties. In addition to his swing-and-miss arsenal, Webb is a high-level competitor and was a likely top-two-round pick previous to his elbow injury.
2020 DRAFT: Webb has been a mainstay in the Georgia bullpen for three years, and he got off to a brilliant start as the anchor of the 'pen in 2020, going 2-0, 1.20 with 26 strikeouts against five walks in 15 innings over five relief appearances. Webb has an athletic, strong-bodied frame at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds. He's power lefty with a 90-93 mph fastball that can bump the mid-90s in short stints, a swing-and-miss, upper-70s curveball and a quality changeup, giving him the three-pitch arsenal to work multiple innings and combat righties and lefties alike. His aggressive demeanor makes him a great fit in tight spots late in games; Georgia coach Scott Stricklin described him as "a fist-pumper, a glove-slapper, a yeller" who "pitches angry." A pro team could give him a shot to start, but his future is likely in relief.
