A fastball with hop has a flat approach angle and visually jumps through the zone. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher swing and miss average. Hop+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Sink+
A fastball with sink has low backspin and drops through the strike zone. When thrown down in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher ground ball percentage and lower launch angle. Sink+ of 100 is MLB average.
Fastball
Rise+
A fastball with rise has a high percentage of backspin. When thrown up in the zone, it is more likely to generate a higher fly ball percentage. Rise+ of 100 is MLB average

Short arm swing, hand stays behind him into front foot strike. Tight rotation, gets it on time. FB: T84, 83-84 mph. Good carry to it, jumps out of the hand well. T2384, 2230 average rpm. CB: 73-74 mph. Flashed it with more 11/5 shape. Getting a good bit of depth to it with equal sweep. T2361, 2307 average rpm. SL: 72-74 mph. High spin rate, with some big break. Bit of depth with a LOT of sweep to it. Missing bats. T2478, 2348 average rpm. CH: 78-80 mph. Kills spin on it with lots of fading life to the arm side. T1606, 1536 average rpm. Ryan Trout, North Oconee (GA), 2027 Positional Profile: SS/RHP Body: 6-0, 150-pounds. Hit: RHH. Loose/athletic stance Can get out a little much on front foot but does a nice job staying behind the baseball in all locations 66 mph bat speed with 5 G's of rotational acceleration. Power: 86 max exit velocity, averaged 74.3 mph. 280' max distance. Arm: RH. INF-85 mph. Strong arm, with over the top action. Defense: Good momentum, fields to either side well.

Trout was impressive in his outing against some really tough competition, pitching 4 innings with 4 strikeouts and 1 earned run. For a day that has been relatively offense heavy, Trout shined on the mound. He has a tall, slender build with long levers at 6-foot, 150 pounds. Overhead delivery at a ¾ arm slot. Hides the ball well with deceptive arm action, allowing his pitches to play up. Fastball ran 80-83 and had a strong feel for it. Curveball ran 69-72 that he would carefully paint the edges with. Also flashed a changeup, running at 76. Impressive arm that will be interesting to watch as he continues to get better.

Positional Profile: RHP/SS Standout arm strength, athleticism, and a repeatable swing Body: 5-11, 145-pounds. Slender frame with long levers and present athleticism. Delivery: Smooth overhead windup. Immediate forward lean in delivery that causes a disconnect between the arm action and backside. Will add 2-3 mph if he can adjust (Keep upper body over the rubber/backside during stride). Good direction with gradual build of pace. Arm Action: RH. Loose, mid depth arm action from 3/4 slot. Repeats well. FB: T81, 78-81 mph. Run+sink. Steep plane. T2126, 2042 average rpm. CB: 68-69 mph. Sweep with some depth. T2173, 1955 average rpm. CH: 72-73 mph. Sink. T1492, 1421 average rpm.

Positional Profile: RHP/SS Standout arm strength, athleticism, and a repeatable swing Body: 5-11, 145-pounds. Slender frame with long levers and present athleticism. Hits: RHH. Tall setup with narrow base and hands set more forward than typical. Slowly angles hands into launch position on negative move, well timed with stride. You'd like to see a more minimal negative and more ground gained in stride. Would increase EV & power output. Hands work close to body for short to, long through path and has ability to manipulate barrel to different pitch locations. Very consistent swing path. Power: 81 max exit velocity, averaged 76.4 MPH. 249' max distance. Backspin to both gaps. Arm: RH. INF-80 mph.Quick, short circle arm action 3/4 slot. All throws carry with accuracy. If he can make his delivery on the mound look more like him throwing from the infield he will throw even harder. Very natural thrower from IF. Arm strength and arm speed. Defense: Impressive lateral quickness with sure hands. Catches ball in pocket consistently.
