Cape Cod- Hit .329/.419/.624 with 16 homers to earn freshman All-America honors for Western Carolina this spring, and he flashed some tools this summer at Y-D but struggled to the tune of .155 in 58 at-bats. With a compact 5-foot-10, 175-pound frame, Ferreras has pop in his righthanded stroke, but he did not show good plate discipline for the Red Sox, striking out 22 times against three walks. He's a good athlete with some flare on defense at shortstop, where he has plenty of arm strength but needs to work on being more fundamentally sound and consistent.
