A first look at the sophomore backstop, and came away impressed. Calhoun takes tight turns on the ball from a compact swing with present hand speed. Feel for the barrel and ability to match plane stands out. Not afraid to hunt early in the count, and did a great job handling elevated velocity to drive a pair of balls into the gaps. Advanced blocking and receiving behind the plate with strong hands and good flexibility for the 5-foot-11, 170-pound frame.
