Starting with a strong showing at Preseason All-State, Gaskill has put together a really strong junior campaign and came through huge last night for the Bulldogs. Plus athlete at 5-foot-11, 155-pounds with 6.4 speed and twitch, Gaskill shows a whippy bat at the plate with present bat speed and sneaky pop in the barrel. Not afraid to go the other way and will pepper the gaps where the speed can thrive. Came through with two big swings resulting in 3 RBI, including the walk-off backside knock to win game one. Good arm strength with huge range in the outfield that will allow Gaskill to profile at all three positions. Still uncommitted, Gaskill checks a ton of boxes to be an impact player at the collegiate level.

Uncommitted. 5-foot-11, 155 pounds. The Gas Man left one of the most lasting impressions on me this game. Facing literally an A/AVG MLB FB (due to extension+life) he hit a deep fly out to LF on a 1st pitch, and had another minimal miss. This proved Jake’s rare quick twitch fibers and vision as a hitter. He was very timed up on this night although he had nothing to show for it. I didn't get to see his plus plus speed burning down the line, but look forward to getting some ridiculous run times on him soon. He played some solid defense and showed his range with a deep fly over the head that he ran down with ease. This speed demon is quickly growing as a player, and there’s just a feeling he will pop soon.

Underclass Games - Outfield Analysis
Positional Profile: OF/C Top of the order bat who is on his way to being a complete hitter. Rare bat to ball skills and lightning quick hands. Profiles as CF. Body: 5-foot-9, 145-pounds. Lean muscled, proportional build with rare quick twitch fibers. Hit: RHH. Wide, athletic base. Knees angled inside feed for optimal balance, hips & shoulders square to pitcher. Smooth, circular movement in hands as they sit just above slot. Hips are the engine of his swing. They touch & go off backside, triggering his hands with an active waggle, to angle the barrel overhead and knob to catcher. Stride foot stays low to the ground as it works to center of balance before gaining ground in stride. Good stretch and separation timing. Repeats landing well. Short, compact stroke with barrels to all fields and innate hand-eye. Power: 89.5 max exit velocity, averaged 79.9 mph. 291’ max distance. Low line drive lasers through all holes of the infield, backspin to gaps. Very consistent pop. Arm: RH. OF - 75 mph. Mid circle AA works fluid in one piece. Accurate throws. Defense: Upright fielder with instincts and quick first step. Rangy and will lay out for balls. Sure handed. Run: 6.68 runner in the 60.
