Uncommitted. 6-foot-3 200-pounds. Rose was out from last season due to injury, and is starting to find his groove on the mound at the right time. With 2 region series remaining Rose is going to be a key piece out of the pen for Etowah. They have the makings of a state championship team with one of the strongest starting rotations and line ups in the county. We got a chance to see Rose earlier in the year, and in this outing you can tell he is really starting to settle in. The command is coming back, and looks much more confident, facing a tough Houston lineup from Tennessee. The fastball worked up to 90 and 91 multiple times, but settled in at 86-88. He is mechanically sound with a high ¾ slot, and strong back leg drive getting down the mound. The arm is naturally strong, and has much more in the tank with the ideal 6-foot-3 frame. The curveball showed great shape in the low 70’s, and he had the ability to flip it over for strikes or bury it for swing and miss. Rose is going to continue to be one of the top junior arms on the board, and will be a pivotal piece in the Eagles playoff run.
