Uncommitted. Taylor’s consistent play at shortstop, and knack for finding the barrel at the plate stood out in the first playoff game on Sunday morning for the East Cobb Astros 16U team. He’s still gaining strength on a developing, 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame, so there is a bit of scoop to the path as he brings the barrel through the zone from the left side, but his ability to be on time and spray line drives from gap to gap is undeniable. I was impressed by his solid work at shortstop, and while he is not flashy, he is consistent and confident in his approach to going after ground balls, and can be counted on to make plays. As he grows into his long limbs, Taylor looks like he will adjust quickly, and gap to gap power is likely on the way.
