Uncommitted. Ellis, 5-8 150, while small in stature plays the game the right way. He is full tilt at all times and he can absolutely fly, the speed is the calling card for Ellis. From contact home to first he was clocked 4.16 and on a triple to the pull side gap where he showed sneaky pop from his frame the burner turned in an 11.39 home to third time. Ellis also was an OBP machine out of the leadoff spot for the DBacks squad and stole multiple bases as well during the weekend. There is definite offensive upside for Ellis and someone is sure to land someone with ability to offensively impact the game in a lot of ways.
11/10/19
5-foot-8, 150-pound right-handed hitting middle infielder, athletically built, wiry strength, ran a 7.02 laser-timed 60. Defensively, long arm action on the back-side, some stiffness, cones out of a mostly high ¾ slot, accurate across the diamond at 75. Fields position athletically, glove work is exceptional, soft hands, funnels into mid section, fluid footwork, clean on exchanges, displayed good body control to both sides. Offensively, tall, open setup, long stride, hands load back smoothly, turns aggressively on front leg. Takes a line drive approach, barrel works level through the zone, uses the middle of the field, 84 exit velocity off a tee. Went 2-for-3 in game with two singles and an RBI.
