First time seeing Colon since back in February at GDC, and came out showing an impressive three-pitch mix against a deep Cartersville lineup. Athletic 5-foot-11,155-pound frame with easy, repeatable actions in the lower-slot delivery while showing good arm speed in a compact arm action. Fastball lived 84-86, topping 87 with good ride through the zone to create whiffs when elevated and showed good command on the inner half. Curveball command wavered at 72-75 but you can see the potential in the pitch with feel to spin and ability to hold 11/5 shape with consistent depth. Changeup was the big winner on the night for Colon at 78-80 with fade and diving action out of the same fastball tunnel and maintaining arm speed extremely well. Created some ugly swing-and-miss to the multiple D1 commits in the lineup. Colon is a high projection arm with plenty of velo to come as he matures, and the present pitchability for the uncommitted sophomore makes me believe the ceiling could be high.
