One of the top 10 players in the 2024 class looked the part on Wednesday night. Standing 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, Foster does an excellent job repeating a compact delivery from both out of the windup and the stretch. Fastball held 88-90 throughout the outing with good ride through the zone. Battled some command issues in the 1st, missing up, but found the zone quickly and filled up both sides of the plate for strikes and in-zone misses for the rest of the game. Curveball at 74-75 steadily improved each inning creating ugly swing-and-miss with huge depth and present feel to spin. Changeup was shown very sparingly in the high-70s. The Georgia commit exudes confidence on the mound and operates with a low heartbeat at all times. Starter profile.
4/25/23

Uncommitted. 6-foot-2, 170 pounds. Few arms have blown up this spring quite like this uber athletic southpaw. This baby faced boss has gone from 83-86 at the start of the spring, to 86-89 T90! The best part about his climb to a priority D1 prospect? There’s so much more in the tank velocity wise. His delivery is pure art, an ode to his athleticism and work ethic. It develops in perfect sequence and he’s both silky smooth & compact thru up+down+out phases. His balance at the top of knee lift is elite, and his coil is perfectly timed. This combined with his patience over the rubber in stride are big reasons why his arm action is so connected and protected. The perfect separation timing just makes it all come together. One of his rarest traits is that he’s a closed foot lander. Landing with a slightly closed foot creates maximum energy in the kinetic chain and produces more inertia and violent rotational force. To naturally land in this position just shows how athletic he is. When you combine his traits as a pitcher with training at Full Count Baseball since age 12, an explosive breakout in the velo department is imminent. This is a player who’s nowhere near his physical ceiling and I’m fully expecting him to be in the 89-92 range next spring, possibly touching higher. His FB/CH is currently the go to combo and he will command both at starter percentages. The heater has ride, nasty angle, and works well at the top of the zone. The CH plays off that, but can also be used as a K pitch off his FB low. He will need to develop a CUT/SL to maximize his chances of being a starter long term, but I will bet on this type of athleticism every time. When next spring rolls around, you’ll be looking at a sleeper draft prospect.
