6-foot-1 165-pounds. Townsend has been one of my favorite uncommitted seniors of the spring. He has been an every day guy for Warriors, and continues to swing the bat well. The steady load and swing from the left side can play at the next level, and the speed he has never slumps. He is a 6.7 runner, and can stick in any OF spot. I have yet to see him strikeout, and he always makes adjustments with 2 strikes and tries to put the ball in play. The ball on the inner half is where his power is, and he has quick enough hands to react to that pitch if the pitcher makes a mistake.

6-foot-1 165-pounds. Townsend had the most impressive night at the plate. The speedy lefty has been swinging the bat well this season. He faced 2 of the top sophomores arms in the state, and had 2 doubles with 4 RBI’s. His approach is simple, he has an athletic stance with really quick hands. He showed the ability to take the ball to the opposite field, and the ability to turn on an inside pitch. He is a base hit threat at any time when he puts the ball in play with his speed. He has great instincts on the bases, and is not afraid to take a bag when the pitchers are slow to the plate. He just missed a web gem line drive diving catch in the outfield. The athleticism shows in all parts of his game. He is the type of player that can spark a rally at anytime. Townsend is one of the top uncommitted players in the state, and will be a great addition to any team at the next level.
