Furman commit. 6-foot 165-pound avg frame with proportional strength, avg width slope shoulders arm works clean thru ¾ slot. FB: 79-82 mostly 80 with solid command of armside run and occasional sink. CB: 72-73 quick sweep, has more of a SL character to the break, has good feel for the depth uses it on both sides of the plate. Bottom line this Kid is an aggressive strike thrower and he is hyper competitive. Never say die Austin keeps his club in games by pitching ahead and making big pitches when he needs them.. command of that CB is his bread and butter.
6/25/19
A lean frame at 5-foot-10,150 pounds. Pitching- The RHP displayed a repeatable delivery. Works with a high knee lift and has early hand separation. Displayed natural arm whip. Throws from a mid ¾ arm slot. FB has some natural arm side run and peaked at 86 MPH. Ranging from 84-86 MPH. CB ranged from 75-76 MPH. Showed feel for a CH at 77-78 MPH. The 2020 graduate is a must follow.
June 25-27 (NYS Games) Pitching - Athletic frame with long limbs for his size. Energy on the mound and a competive demeanor. Slow and smooth tempo to balance point. Generates leverage with a lower half push and hip rotation. Ball comes out of his hand easy and gets on hitters faster than expected. FB shows late life and run with quick arm, pealed at 81 mph. Finishes well over front knee and stays in line down the mound. Tends to short arm the ball and not get arm fully extended. Smooth beginning then uses alot of energy moving down the mound. CB/SLD shows tight spin and good cross action movement, 69-71.
Preseason - Downstate (February 21, 2018)
5 foot 8, 145-pounds with long legs and an athletic build. Ran a 7.31-60. 4.7-Home to 1st. Offensively- Righty stands slightly open with a bit of a bat waggle. Hands are above shoulders, with a leg kick on pitch. Gets full extension through the zone with a slight upward angle on bat through the zone. Hips move fluently with quick hands. Line drive approach, power to come as he gets older and stronger. Defensively- Very active approach to the ball, gets around the ball better than most. Fields the ball deep in his stance, with smooth hands. Quick transfer from glove to hand at 3B. Has a feel for getting the angle to first. Quick release from the ¾ arm slot.
