USA CNT: Morales was a key contributor for the Hurricanes in 2022, slashing .329/.411/.650 over 280 plate appearances with almost half of his 79 hits going for extra bases. While his strike out rate was on the high side but outside the danger zone through the spring, he expanded the zone greatly through both trials and the Honkbalweek Haarlem tournament, combining for 15 strikeouts over 40 plate appearances (37.5%) in those 12 games. While overseas, however, he also put on display the hard contact ability that landed him on the final USACNT squad and has kept him in Day One discussions on the draft side, batting .400 and hitting the ball with authority throughout the seven-game run. Morales loads with a near full arm bar and creates lots of leverage, but also lots of space between barrel and contact points, causing him to make swing decisions earlier in the ball's flight to home. An ultra-aggressive approach this summer meant more counts batting from behind and left him exposed more often than not. He's steady straight on and capable charging from third, but can struggle at times to finish at the margins of his lateral range. Whether he ultimately sticks at third or shifts to another corner, Morales's draft stock for 2023 will hinge on continued improvement of his approach and swing decisions. There's no question he has the raw strength to impact the game offensively at the pro ranks — the next step is refining his hit tool and ensuring effective contact rates. He's a potential Day One target at present.

Miami commit. Was undeterred by the velocity Malone was throwing up, as he squared up a 94 mph fastball away for an RBI triple to right-center field. He looks the part and has athletic,easy defensive actions. Offensively, the bat continues to play against high-level arms and still has a lot of upside in the athletic frame.
