10/12/18 - Vanderbilt commit. 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed infielder, highly athletic, leong legs, easy strides, ran a 6.69 60. Has a swagger about him defensively, speed translates to game, able to cover ground laterally on the infield. In the outfield, arm plays, made accurate throws consistently. Offensively, long levers, creates angles, puts ball in play and uses speed. SAvvy base runner, stole multiple bases on the weekend.
10/08/16- Vanderbilt recruit. Stands at 6-foot-1, 155 pounds with a lean, athletic, projectable build. Shows athletic, quick twitch actions all over the field. Has some quick hands and bat speed at the plate. Squared up the ball for a line drive single up the middle during the game. Makes good turns and runs the bases well. Displays good range, quick feet, and soft hands in the field. Fielded a ground ball up the middle, spun, and threw off his back foot for the out at first during the game for a very tough play.
05/28/16- Vanderbilt commit. Tall, very lean 6-foot, 150-pound frame with plenty of room to grow. At shortstop showed very good first step, plenty of range, made very impressive plays to both his right and left. Hands work very well, shows a clean, easy arm action. Quick-twitch athlete. Good feel on the bases. Right-handed hitter, shows quick hands through the zone with signs of power. Tall stance, can get a little long. As he continues to develop his approach, has more at-bats against good arms, the athleticism should lead to a more consistent short path to the ball. Present tools are impressive, projects. Likely to be a very interesting prospect as he becomes more physical and continues to refine his current skillset.
4/28/16- Vanderbilt commit who stands at 6-foot, 150 pounds with a slender, long, athletic, and projectable frame. Younger brother of 2015 1st-round pick Triston McKenzie. He is ranked 18th in Florida and 44th overall. At the plate he has an open stance and gets a separation for his load that gets his hands and bat into a strong hitting position. Right now his swing has some length and a little loft but he has good bat speed and a nice plane through the zone that indicates future pop. In the field he has soft hands, good range, and advanced arm strength for his age with an easy, loose arm action throwing across the diamond. He also has long, loose strides when he is running the bases. Look for all of his tools to improve with maturity, strength, and added weight.
3/21/16 - Vanderbilt commit. 6-foot, 150 pound infielder with a loose lean projectable body. Loose athletic infield actions with good first step quickness for a young guy. Has enough arm for left side of infield. Loose bat with some quickness in the hands. Lacks strength right now but bat will improve with added strength. Still very young.
2/3/16- Committed to Vanderbilt.
9/12/15 - 5-foot-9, 150 pound middle infielder with a loose lean athletic projectable body. Loose easy infield actions with quick soft hands. Has enough arm to stay at SS. Loose easy arm that will get stronger. Loose quick bat with good hand eye. Has a good bat path. Keeps barrel in the zone and stays inside ball. Sprays the ball and uses the whole field. Lacks strength right now, but overall game will improve with physical maturity. Good looking young player. Ran a 6.99 60.
