A graduate transfer from Mercer, Yeager has put together an outstanding year from the leadoff spot in the order. He has belted 12 home runs in SEC only play, good for the co-lead with Luke Mann (Missouri). His 16 total home runs pace the Bulldogs as does his .340 batting average in SEC play. For the weekend Yeager was 3-for-12 with a walk and two RBI. His top exit velocity was 109.8 on a hard ground ball that went for an error. His fringe arm strength and range make him best suited for second base at the next level, not shortstop where played everyday the previous four seasons at Mercer. As a 23 year-old, turning 24 in October, his age works against him, but there is likely still a place in a 20-round draft for someone who has produced to his extent in the SEC.
Committed to Mercer University.
Uncommitted incoming junior. 6-foot-3 170 pounds with a lean, athletic, and projectable frame. Relaxed at the plate with good rhythm. Wide base, good separation and hand load. Easy swing with a nice plane. Gap power and an above average runner. Soft hands in the field with good footwork. Quick, light feet and attacks balls. Average ML arm across the diamond and has good range.
