6/22/16- The 6-foot-2 170 pounder has and athletic frame with room to grow. At the plate Shimko has a simple set-up with little movement prior to the pitch. Short, direct path to the baseball which led to him finding consistent barrel in batting practice as well as a base hit up the middle in the game. As Shimko continues to get stronger the simple swing and barrel control should produce some gap-to-gap power. Shimko has an above average arm topping at 83 mph from the outfield and consistently producing good low throws on target with some carry.

11/7/15- 6-foot-2, 165 pounds with a tall, lean, athletic and projectable body. From the outfield he showed a loose, over the top arm action with on line and accurate throws. He threw 82 mph from the outfield. At the plate he has a good base in his stance with a simple approach. He slightly cuts off his swing but has a short, quick stroke with a flat plane through the zone.
Long loose arm at a high ¾ arm slot. . Deep in back and takes ball out to third base. Inconsistent out front because head comes off target. Fastball was 73-75 mph with glove side cut action. Curveball was a ¾ breaker that was a bit soft at 57-59 mph. Changeup was 58-60 mph and slows down to throw it. Projectable young arm.
