5/15/15 - Jacksonville Signee. 6 feet 175 pounds with a lean, athletic and projectable body. Long, loose arm action on the mound. Quick arm. ¾ arm slot. 86-89 mph FB that runs in when thrown inside. 66 mph CR that has good depth. 78-81 mph SL that is sharp with a late break, tough on righties. Can also swing it. Open stance with high hands. Good separation. Gets into a strong hitting position. Nice swing plane and stays inside the ball well. He’s a gamer and plays the game with passion. Can play all nine positions. 10 IP, 1 ER, 13 K’s in the state semifinal game.

The 6-foot 165 lb. Jacksonville University commit was named to the Louisville Slugger High School All-American Second Team.  In addition, he was a member of the 2014 Lagrange Toyota Invitational All Tournament Team. Cassala hit .450 with 25 runs and 15 RBI. On the bump, Cassal was 7-2 with 64 Ks and a 1.90 ERA in 62 IP.
