Solid athletic frame standing around 6-foot. Athletic stance with a slight crouch while hitting from the left side. Starts slightly open and uses a leg lift to stride landing on line. Level path to the ball, stays inside, and finishes through extension. Uses the whole field and has some gap to gap power to go with it. Behind the plate is a solid receiver and displayed ability to keep the ball around the plate on dirt balls. Throws show some carry and were pretty accurate around the bag. Is an impressive player and could be huge offensive asset to someone at the next level.

PBR Future Games

Solid frame at 6-foot, 175-pounds. Ran a 7.07 60-yard dash. Hits from a slightly open set. Smooth load with leg kick to hitting position. Hands are direct to the ball with fast bat speed and level through contact. Gets some uphill in swing as well. Nice lower half involvement. Shows pop to the pull side, strongest when working the middle of the field. Nice rhythm at the plate. Exit velocity of 90 mph. Versatile defender. Catcher is primary and shows strong receiving skills behind the dish. Quiet receiver with clean exchange and release on pops. Velocity on throws was up to 73 mph with a lowest pop time at 2.08. Showed ability to comfortably play third base as well as corner outfield in game, could handle either as well. Made adjustments throughout the event and leveled a swing that had gotten too uphill in first two games and had his best at bats in game three of the event, showing his potential as an offensive presence.

Underclass Games 6/20/18

Rice is 6-0 with an athletic frame that has projection left to it. He hits from the left side from an open, loaded back athletic stance. Leg kick stride on line, loads back to a wrap, explosive lower half with good balance once foot is down. Quick bat with extension through the ball and some whip, uphill swing path shows a pull/power approach, exit velocity was 87. Behind the plate, quick clean exchange, throws from a high three-quarters arm slot with a short arm action with some quickness, catcher velocity was 74. Showed some accuracy on throws and pop times were 1.99-2.16.

6.13.17:  Rice has an athletic frame. Ran a 7.24 60 yard dash. Hits form the left side from an upright balanced stance. Big leg kick stride and smooth load back, good rhythm to swing. Explosive hips and good balance to his swing. Works uphill through the ball with good extension, pull approach with some power that he can grow into, exit velocity was 86. In the infield, clean footwork and above average hands, works through the ball to a clean exchange. Throws from a low three-quarters arm slot with a loose arm action, infield velocity was 78. Behind the plate, receives ball well and sticks it out in front. Clean exchange, throws from low three-quarters arm slot with short arm action, catcher velocity was 70 and pop times were 1.97-2.03.
