02/22/17 - Uncommitted, sophomore Kyle Yeoward would come in to close for the Eagles. Yeoward finished the game with a fastball that ranged from 86-87 mph and a hard slider with depth at 71 mph while putting the Falcons down in order in the bottom of the 7th to seal the opening day win 4-1 for Stoneman Douglas.
6/22/16 - The 5-foot-10 185-pounder has noticeably become more physical since prior events. At the plate Yeoward, has a slightly open stance with a small leg kick and a balanced load. The swing is level through the zone, although can get a little long. The added physicality produced some gap-to-gap power and with more reps the swing should become much more direct more consistently. Defensively, Yeoward shows average range at third with good hands and an above average arm. On the mound he has a good lower half along with a clean, loose, easy arm action. Yeoward had a fastball that ranged from 83-86 mph with a sweeping slider at 70-71 mph and a curveball with good depth at 66-68 mph.
11/7/15- 5-foot-10, 190 pounds with a thick, stalky and loose body with athleticism. He showed loose actions all over the field and showed a strong arm from behind the plate for his age (77 mph down to second). He showed a quick transfer with a short, loose arm action. 1.94-1.98 pop time. At the plate he has an open and upright stance, gets a good separation for his load and his bat gets into an ideal angle before he starts his swing. He has some loft in his swing and the ball really jumps off his bat for his age. When he learns to use more lower half and matures he will have very good power.
Built more like a catcher but has a loose live easy working arm. Has a short arm like a catcher at a high ¾ slot. Fastball had some late life at 82-83 mph. Curveball had a tight ¾ rotation at 63-65 mph. Dropped arm slot to throw changeup at 68-72 mph. Has good arm speed and more life on changeup. Also looks very good behind the dish. Good looking young player.
