Physically mature at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds with a strong lower half, Bosnic works quickly with some stiffness to his delivery. From a high three-quarters slot the lefty showed some arm strength, running his fastball up to 93, while pitching in the 90-92 mph range. His marginal athleticism causes some timing issues as Bosnic doesn’t repeat his delivery too well. He occasionally spiked his heater in front of the plate. His 75-77 mph curveball improved as the game progressed and he also showed an occasional 78-80 mph changeup, but neither pitch really factored into the ballgame. Instead he relied on guts and some deception with a high front side in his delivery to grind his way through four-plus innings and leave the game in a spot where stellar relief pitching and some timely hitting gave the Gamecocks a Sunday win. On this look Bosnic was not a top five round prospect which is where his current No. 82 ranking equates. He profiles to the bullpen where his high strikeout totals (30 in 19.1 IP this season) and a ton of swing/miss on his fastball reminds me of former MLer Tony Cingrani.
Wake Forest recruit. Currently ranked No. 29 in the Florida 2018 Class, No. 134 Overall. Currently stands at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds with a tall, projectable frame. Still has a younger face, room to grow into his frame. Simple, repeatable delivery. Throws out of the high ¾ slot, throws downhill with a quick arm and gets extension out in front. Ball jumps out of his hand. Fastball was mostly 87-90 mph, touching 91 multiple times with run. Also mixed in a 70-71 mph curveball with 12/6 action along with a 78-81 mph change up that showed sink. Showed good command of the zone and threw all three pitches for strikes. Competes and goes after hitters. Only made one mistake on the night and finished his time on the mound with six innings pitched, nine strikeouts, and one run allowed on three hits.
Committed to Wake Forest University.
Six-foot-3, 210-pounder with a young, projectable, big body frame that will continue to develop with maturity. Loose arm action and repeats delivery well. Really competes and goes after hitters, bulldog mentality. Fastball sat 85-87 mph and topped out at 88 a couple times with life. Curveball sat 66-70 mph with some good depth and break. Flashed a changeup later on in the game that he mixed in well. Pounds the strike zone. Had a deceptive pick off move and was able to pick off a runner at 2nd base during the game. Showed some good bat speed and can make solid contact. Drove in the lone run during the game. Finished with 14 Ks and allowed only 3 hits in 6 2/3 innings to a strong IMG Academy lineup. Young, projectable arm with more velocity to come.
Six-foot-2 190 pound left hander with an athletic, loose, and projectable body that has good size for his age. He should grow and add more weight with maturity. He has a high ¾ arm slot that is fairly loose. Lands in line and takes ball out in line. His fastball has slight arm side run at 79-82 mph. Showed one changeup at 73 mph that was deceiving with the same arm speed and has same action as his fastball. He showed one plus curveball that had good depth and had a 12/6 drop with good, late break. He is advanced for his age with good feel for pitching.
