5/20/15 - Florida Atlantic Signee. 5-foot-11 175 pounds with an athletic and lean frame. Simple, balanced and smooth motion. Loose, compact, and high ¾ arm slot. 85-87 mph FB. 69-72 mph curve with a ¾ break. Fairly sharp with decent depth. Pounds the strike zone and is confident on the mound.
2/19/15 - Florida Atlantic commit. 5-foot-11, 175 pound lefty with a loose arm and easy mechanics. Fastball was 85-88 mph with good firm finish. Curveball is a ¾-downer with some depth. Began a bit scattered last night, but has the mechanics and looseness to repeat, just needs to slow down. Ended up striking out 6 in his 4 IP. Lacks the physicality and stuff for pro ball out of high school, but will be a prospect out of college.
MWFG 8/20/13: left handed outfielder and pitcher from Muncie Central, will never be the kid that jumps out at you but everything he does, he does well. The bat speed is the first thing I notice. He handles velocity and recognizes spin on pitches very well. Poore is one the few kids that will do both in college. Poore on the mound is 82-85 from the left side with a good breaking ball. Poore is a competitor too which is a forgotten tool.
4/24/13 Game Notes: Sat 82-84 mph, touching 85 mph in his win vs. Delta HS. Allowed 1 hit in 6 IP with 6 Ks. Threw a 1/7 breaking ball with a sharp action at 67-70. Showed good command with both pitches, getting many swing and misses off his breaking ball. At the plate showed good bat speed and the ability to drive the ball to the gap
2/25/12: Poore is a 5’11”, 160 lb. freshman with tons of projectability. From the OF he shows a strong accurate arm at 84 mph. He moves well and shows good defensive actions. At the plate he displays good balance with a smooth load. He has quick bat speed for a freshman, and produces good pop. On the mound he throws from a high ¾ arm slot. Poore displays good rhythm and timing in his delivery. His fastball sits at 80-83 mph with some run. He throws a 1/7 breaking ball with sharp action at 66-69 mph. Poore’s change up is 69-72 mph with good sink action. He shows the ability to throw all three pitches for a strike.
