04/18/17- Miami recruit. Going 1-2 with a double and a walk on the day. Rivera is extremely physical, but also runs well, showing a 4.41 on the turn of his double. He has quick hands and present power with more to come.
10/16/16- Miami recruit. Stands at 6-foot, 202 pounds with a physical build, developed lower half, and strong forearms. The Top Prospect Games standout impressed all weekend as he had a balanced, confident approach at the plate with above average bat speed and present pull side power. Put a couple balls over the left field wall and into the gaps as well. Ball jumps off the bat. Doubled into the left/center field gap during the game. Also displayed low, accurate throws with carry from the outfield. Ran a 6.75 60-yard dash time. Plays the game hard, does whatever he can to make the play.
6/22/16- Miami recruit, the 6-foot 202-pound outfielder is extremely physical and quick twitch. Rivera has quick hands while still being able to create a quality path through the zone. Rivera has a strong lower half with a pull side approach and pull side power. The strong Rivera showed some of this power with a home run in batting practice as well as the highest exit velocity of the event at 96 mph.
5/20/15 - 5-foot-10 190 pounds with a strong, athletic, and physical body. Mike Trout type build. Above average runner with short, quick strides. Above average arm from the OF with on-line, accurate throws. Stays on top of the ball when he throws. Slightly open at the plate and gets a small separation for his load. Stays inside the ball well and the ball jumps off his bat. Short, quick swing with an up the middle/backside approach.
6/23/19: Rivera put together a solid spring for the Hurricanes, slashing .290/.374/.590 with almost half of his 29 hits going for extras (7 HR, 5 2B, 2 3B). The center fielder put several good swings on the ball in this viewing against Kenosha, including a hard single to center off of a 90 mph fastball at the letters. Rivera utilizes a moderate leg kick and slight barrel flick to kick-off his swing, generating good torque through a sturdy core. There’s some length to the swing, but he stays relatively balanced throughout and there is the potential for legit power emerging. A plus runner, Rivera certainly has the speed to handle center field and the reads look at least adequate based on this brief look. There’s work to do for Rivera to climb into Day 2 territory for next June’s draft, but a potential power/speed combo at an up-the-middle position is noteworthy and he should have ample opportunities to show off his wares in a power conference like the ACC. (Faleris)
8/15/18: Nineteen years old, strong bodied and tooled up outfielder. Wrestler type build at five-foot-eleven, 210 pounds with a super strong upper body. Good bat speed, ball jumps off his bat to all fields. Above average raw power. During the game showed a pull approach from a slightly spread stance and fair balance; leg lift load, consistently his front foot back down late. Struggled to produce at the plate, batting just .163 with 38 strikeouts in 105 plate appearances. Above average arm. Above average runner; 4.22, 4.31 down the line. Possesses the strength and all the needed tools to be a top round pick in 2020, but needs to develop his skills and produce at the plate. (Seifert)
