5-foot-10, 165 pounds, lean and athletic, the shoulders are sloped. Well-proportioned, with length, Diamond is only starting to fill out the frame with plenty of room for strength gains in the coming years. A left-handed pitcher that works from a high ¾ slot, Diamond impressed during his workout. He works slowly but with a rhythm out of the wind up, with a good stride and extension. Diamond finishes his pitches and repeated his delivery consistently, staying inline with solid hip rotation. Diamond has the tools to keep hitters on both sides of the plate off balance. The fastball sits 78-79 mph and is thrown downhill. There is some sink and armside run on the pitch. He works in a slurvey breaking ball that has room for refinement, at times looks more like a sweeping curve between 61-63 mph and other times looking more like a slider between 64-67 mph. His changeup is already coming along between 65-68 mph, thrown with the same arm speed as the fastball. The pitch has fade and will help him keep right-handed hitters off balance. With a projectable frame that should tack on more velocity and promising repertoire that has room to grow, Diamond is a major follow heading into his junior season at Glastonbury. If the breaking ball takes another forward step this spring, he could seriously elevate his prospect status.
