8/17/16

On the mound, pitches out of a clean ¾ arm path. The fastball has plus life to it, touching 88 mph. The spin pitch needs more fastball hand speed to it, sits now at 68-69 mph. The changeup is a work in progress, 75-76 mph. Profiles as a reliever at the next level, if he can get better tracking with his shoulders and his posture under control, he could pitch at a high level. As a positional player, he is a guy. Threw 89 mph across the diamond from third. The glove is solid and he can move well enough to make the slow roller play. Ran a 4.35 down the line on his dig to first base. The bat has plenty of buggy whip to it. The hand speed is excellent, tee exit velocity of 93 mph. Hits out of a close feet setup. The hand are even and he whips the barrel through the zone. Pull mode was shown for the most part, as he will have to get better control of his bottom half to spread the field.

Another event for Michael, showed well again, has good life in his arm. Pitches from a high-¾ slot, ball comes out of his hand well and rides to the glove side. The delivery is simple and repeats it with ease, the finish could be better, but with reps and coaching can get cleaned up. Fastball sat 85-86 for the entire outing. The breaking ball is 66-68, has late break and the shape of it is ok. The arm is quick, slider might be the way to go down the road. The changeup is a work in progress, needs more feel with it. Has a chance to be a two-way guy down the road, with ability to pitch at the end of the game. Best tool is his bat, can really handle it, hits it to all fields. Definite follow for me.

10/18/15
Had a tremendous showing at the event, the left-handed hitting third baseman put on a display at the plate. Sets up open and even with his feet with an even hand approach. The swing is fast and simple to the ball. His approach is to lash the ball, and did pull his hands in a ball on the inner half to double in one at bat. Really going to hit, in my opinion, at the next level. The glove is solid at third and he shows plus arm strength from a high slot. Runs well and shows feel on the base paths. On the mound, he projects as a two pitch reliever from a high slot. The fastball has bore action to it and if the velocity increases he could be tough on right-handed hitters. Spins the ball with a slurve but didnt show a ton of them. The pitch has good spin and shape but needed to be located better. Good looking player.

7/28/15
A left handed hitter, hits from an open crouch and squats in stance, feet are close together, hands are low and he loads them back to a good hitting position. His bat speed is quick with strong hands and his tee exit velocity was 85. At this point he is more of a pull hitter, needs to let the ball travel so he can hit in the oppo gap. At third base, he fields the ball in front, his hands work and the flow is very good. Arm strength is well above average at 85 across the diamond. Footwork is good starting the double play. Off the mound, fastball was 84-86, arm action is a little stiff with a crank action that cuts the bottom half off, but the fastball explodes to the plate. Curveball was 65-67, times to the plate were 1.51-1.59. He is super athletic, has a chance to be a big time third baseman.
