6/20/18

5-foot-11, 180-pound, average athletic frame. The hands and wrists have strength and quickness to them. A toolsy type player, one of the better players in the state of CT. Top tool is the ability to swing the bat, legs are above average ran a 6.94 sixty yard dash and arm strength is well above average. At the plate, has a simple, controlled approach, feet are even at shoulder width, hands are loose at the letters starting in more of tilted position. The lower half is under control, small leg kick, gains ground with stride. The bat head gets through the zone with authority. The swing is level, and creates lift to the finish, with backspin to the baseball, has above average power to the gaps. The approach is more to the pull side. The tee exit velocity was 93 mph, drove the baseball over the fence with ease during batting practice. Game collected multiple hits, with hard contact. Defensively, arm was clocked at 86 mph both from the infield and outfield. The arm works out of a ¾ to high slot, has carry to all throws. The arm path is a tick longer on the backside. The feet and hands work well together, gains ground and is under control with momentum. Projects for me as a third baseman, or a move to the outfield may be in the works as well with his ability to run and track the baseball.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 6.94
Exit Velocity: 93 mph
Arm Velocity: 86 mph

7/18/17

5-foot-11, 170 pounds, solid athlete already beginning to come into his own physically, strong lower half. Defensively, he showed advanced reads of the ball off the bat for someone heading into his sophomore season. Has feel for the position. Good open hip starting the double play from shortstop, has the requisite arm strength for the position. Still refining his footwork and backhand, though advancements in those areas should come as he develops these next few years. At the plate, Thayer’s loose hands help him make hard contact and level swing path conducive to line drive approach. Growing power potential with ability to hit to the gaps at the present. Ran a 4.47 with an easy stride. A promising player in the 2020 class that should be on collegiate radars.

Home-First: 4.47
Exit Velocity: 87 MPH
Arm Velocity: INF - 79 MPH

3/07/17

5-foot-11, 165-pound- average athletic frame, wrists and hands have strength and quickness to them. A right-handed hitting middle infielder, who can really swing the bat, drives the baseball to all fields, has above average power for his age and size, ball jumps off his bat. The stance is simple relaxed and balanced. The feet are slightly wider than shoulder width apart, and front foot is slightly open. The lower half is under control, uses a no stride approach, front knee has a small controlled buckle for his timing. The hands are set at shoulder height, are loose, relaxed and bat has tilt to it, starts in a good hitting position. The weight and hands get back and stay back, the swing path is down to level to up. The barrel stays in the hitting zone for a long time, keeps hands inside the baseball. The approach is gap to gap, has enough pop to beat the outfielders. The tee exit velocity was at 91 mph, well above average for his age, and ran a 6.87 sixty-yard dash. Defensively, approach to the baseball was good, gets around the ball with momentum moving towards his target. The hands are soft, transfer is clean, could get to throwing hand quicker, easy fix with reps. The arm was clocked at 80 mph across the diamond, has plenty of strength to make throw in hole. The backhand play could soften, showed good flow and actions on slow roller. Big time follow, has a serious chance to hit at the next level, projects for me as more of a corner infielder or even a move to outfield. Showed to have three above average tools.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 6.87
Exit Velocity: 91 mph
Arm Velocity: 80 mph

12/04/16

5-foot-10, 155-pound, average athletic frame. A well proportioned athlete, the hands have some fast twitch actions to them, legs are strong. The frame has room to add weight and strength to it. One of the better players in the 2020 class, a right-handed hitter that has a simple approach. The stance is open to even, slightly wider than shoulder width. The hands are even to the shoulders and has a small bat tilt. The lower half is under control, uses a small leg kick for timing and gains ground with stride. The back foot is more squared up in stance, previous workout was open, didn't get to use the entire backside with it. The swing is level to up, and finishes it with one hand. The bottom hand gets some bar to it, as he gets stronger the path will be more direct, easy fix with reps and strength. The tee exit velocity was very good for his age at 91 mph and ran a 7.0 sixty yard dash. The BP was good, hammered balls to middle and pull side. Defensively, worked from the ground up, fielded the ball out front and the feet were good, moving throughout. The arm was clocked at 77 mph, has life and strength across the diamond. Moved well to both sides, feeds in starting the double play were smooth and stayed low and through the backhand. Big time follow, look for big things from this one. Projects for me as more of a third baseman at the next level.

7/27/16

5-foot-10, 155-pound, physical frame for his age, neck is long and shoulders are square. A right-handed hitter, who had a tremendous workout and was a huge surprise. The stance is basic and simple. The hands are loose and held above the back shoulder, the lower half is shoulder width apart, slightly open and has a small controlled toe tap for timing. The swing is level to up, with a one handed finish. The barrel stays in the zone a long time and looks to spray it to all fields. Shows to have above average power for his age, should be a gap to gap guy in the coming years. The bottom hand has some arm bar to it, strength and facing better competition should clean this up. The tee exit velocity was 84 mph and ran a 4.46, both highly advanced for his age. In game performance was outstanding, collecting a HR and couple of singles. Defensively, plays up the middle attacks and gets through the baseball well. The arm is a little longer, and opens it early on the backside, it works and has strength to it, clocked at 74 mph, with carry across the diamond. The hands are soft and keeps his feet moving throughout. On the mound, this right-hander uses a drop and drive approach, the fastball was clocked at 74-76 mph. The slider ball was 70-71 mph, with some downward action to it. Competes and attacks on the mound, needs to smooth out delivery and get lower body involved, the arm works with strength. Projects for me as a monster at the plate.

Future Games
5-foot-11, 180-pound, super athletic, fast twitch athlete, well proportioned with strength throughout. A toolsy type right-handed hitter, stance is wide and even, hands held at the shoulders and are loose. The lower half is under control, small pick up and put down. The swing is level through the zone, approach is middle to pull, shows to have above average power to pull side, had a tee exit velocity of 91 mph. Game play, had hard contact, runs above average, gets down the line at 4.25 and ran a 6.75 sixty-yard. Defensively, has the arm to stick on the left side of the infield, clocked at 87 mph, arm is quick and fast baseball has carry to it. The double play starts were clean, good flow from third base. Projects for me long term as a third baseman or center fielder, has the legs to track down the baseball in the outfield. High level prospect.

Exit Velocity: 91 MPH
Arm Velocity: 87 MPH
