In game performance was good, collected 2 singles and made solid contact in all at bats. Ran a 4.65 down the line from home to first. Defensively, plays the hot corner and works from the ground up. The hands are soft and fields ball out front, the form is good, at times takes an extra step to get his gather. The arm action is short and ball comes out of a high-¾ slot. Clocked at 75 mph, footwork was good starting the double play. Good looking left-handed hitter who can square it up and get the barrel to the ball, might need to swing to first base down the road. Attending the future games in 2016.
12/12/15 Second PBR event for Jake, had a fine workout. Hits from the left side, the stance is even and very balanced. The swing is a natural smooth and loose left-handed swing, is advanced in hitting the ball to opposite field. The tee exit velocity was 79 mph which was a few ticks higher than the last workout. Also ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. In the field, he shows soft hands at the hot corner, feet and hands are working better together, needs to continue to keep feet moving towards target after he makes the throw. The arm strength registered 75 mph across the diamond which was up as well. Made the backhand and slow roller look easy. Has made a small jump, needs to continue to get stronger and work on his feet, the bat will play down the road.
10/11/15 A left-handed hitting third baseman, showed well at this event. The stance is balanced, hands are set just above the shoulders. The path is level to the ball with a high finish, needs to stay on it a bit more, barrel gets out of the zone quick. The tee exit velocity was 76 and ran 4.68 down the line. In game swings were real good, swing shows signs of being able to drive the ball to all parts of the field, strength and physical maturation are a must. In the field, showed soft hands and feet worked well with hands, arm strength was 71 across the diamond. Can continue to follow throws toward his target. Corner infielder who can swing the bat, follow for me.
