7/12/16
6-foot-2, 190-pound, physical athletic frame, legs and back have good strength and size. A right-handed pitcher, the delivery is simple and repeats it without much effort. The hands start high and stay high with controlled leg raise. The separation is clean, direction is inline on foot stride with a strong frontside. The arm action is clean, a down to up path with no hesitation or pause. The fastball was 80-82 mph, pounded to both sides of the plate and pitches well to the armside. The spin on the breaking ball is tight, with good depth, clocked at 66-69 mph. The changeup is thrown with good arm speed and is thrown for strikes, clocked in the mid- 70’s and works well off his fastball. Times to the plate are good at 1.25, works fast and holds runners. Offensively, hits from the right side, the approach is gap to gap. The stance is balanced and slightly wider than shoulder width. The swing path is level to up, with the tee exit velocity being 76 mph. In game swings were good collecting a base hit. Defensively, shows good prep steps, keeps feet moving towards target, through the catch and into the throw. The arm was clocked at 76 mph, with some carry. Projects for me off the mound, big time strike thrower who competes at a high level.

2/20/16
6-foot-2, 185-pound athletic frame, sloped shoulders, solid lower half and plenty of room to fill out. This right-handed arm, has an easy repeatable delivery. The arm slot is high-¾, arm is long and clean on the backside, direction is straight and front side glove is strong and stays inline. The fastball was 81-83 mph, worked downhill and pounded to the arm-side, had some life to it. The curveball showed the makings of being a plus pitch, late break and bite to it, was thrown at 67-69 mph. Changeup had some sink to arm-side, was clocked at 74-76 mph. Times to the plate were 1.53-1.58. Offensively, hits from an open to even stance, hands are set just at shoulder height and he is balanced throughout the swing. The path is level across his chest, has some whip out front, the tee exit velocity was 78 mph. Showed a middle of the field approach. Defensively, he had proper prep steps, hands were soft, no wasted movement getting into throwing position. The arm path was short and quick, clocked at 79 mph across the diamond and had good carry. Double play starts were good, could come through backhand a little more. Ran a 4.32 from home to first.
8/26/15
At 6-foot-1, 170-pounds, the frame is athletic, with some room to add weight on. At the plate hits from the right side, is balanced the stance is bit wider. The hands and path are good, the tee exit velocity was 76, he ran down the line at 4.64. Swung the bat well in the game, made solid contact and drove the ball well to the opposite field. In the field showed solid hands at shortstop.  Prep steps, hands and feet worked well together. Showed an arm of 72 on the gun. Footwork needs to get sharper around the bag, projects to be a third baseman. Off the mound, the fastball was 79-80, was downhill, lived at the knees. The direction and finish were good, poured the fastball in there to both sides. The breaking pitch, needs to tighten up a bit, rotation was loose and needs to be thrown harder, was at 63. Good looking kid, get out and see him.
