The setup was narrow in base and the front foot is slightly open. The path is long and strong, slightly uphill. The hands work free and clean. The frame can get stronger and aid the development of his bat.

6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitting catcher and first baseman. Ran a 7.47 sixty on the laser at the event. The receiving needs to continue to improve, softening the catch. The transfer and foot work are improving, still need to keep developing. Pop time of 2.05 and he threw 69 mph down to second base. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 86 mph. The setup is even in base, front foot steps to the pitch as the ball approaches the hitting zone. The path is flat to contact, and the hands are strong. Stays in his legs during the swing.

6-foot, 205-pound right-handed hitting catcher, showed plus hand speed with the bat. Ran a 7.22 sixty on the laser at the event. Threw 69 mph from behind the dish, pop time of 2.09. Arm strength needs to be developed, the transfer footwork can be cleaned up as well. The bat has a tee exit velocity of 89 mph, plus hand speed at the dish. The setup is wide in base, pick up and put down of the front foot as the ball approaches. The bottom half is under control, and the bat path is up and over, creating top spin. If the path gets flattened out, lookout as he could really start to punish the ball.

6-foot-205-pound, strong, thick athletic frame, a well proportioned athlete. The hands and wrists have above average strength to them. A right-handed hitter, stance and approach is balanced throughout to the baseball. The swing is built for doubles, hands start slightly lower than shoulder height, feet are spread out. The swing is very short to the baseball, is level through contact and creates lift and length to the backend of it. The lower half could be engaged more, will help create more power down the road. Consistently makes hard solid contact, tee exit is consistent at 88 mph, it’s advanced, has strength in swing. Defensively, worked both behind the dish and at first base. Behind the plate, setup is balanced, feet are even, works low to the ground. The hands are soft, handles the low pitch extremely well, looks to get behind the baseball when receiving it. The feet and hands work well together in transfer, stands up just so slightly, could stay lower a bit longer. The arm works out of a high ¾ slot, has small pause on the backside, shows to have good strength from the chute, arm was clocked at 74 mph, flight is down hill. First base play is smooth, gets off the bag quickly, drop steps and jump turns are smooth and accurate, showed good feel on throws. Good looking hitter that can play multiple positions, good follow.

6 foot, 205 pounds, Perez has a strong, thick lower half with sloped shoulders. Still able to add strength to the upper body with further conditioning. Ran a 7.94 sixty yard dash. The offensive profile is exciting, as Perez generates ample bat speed and posted a tee exit velocity at 88 MPH. His hands start high above the shoulders with a wide base, as the feet are more than shoulder width apart. Rips his hips through the swing and has a small step as a timing mechanism. Plenty of pop in the bat. As a catcher, Perez posted pop times between 2.07-2.10 and was clocked up to 74 MPH out of the chute. He releases the ball from a higher slot with average foot speed when hopping from receiving the pitch to the release. Will need to polish receiving skills further to remain behind the plate, though he has the athleticism and offensive skills to move over to first base. Works off the mound as well, this right-handed had a fastball reached 73 mph, after working out as a catcher prior to pitching. The delivery is simple, works from the stretch position, arm action is clean, comes out of a natural ¾ to high ¾ slot. The fastball has down sinking action to it, threw a ton of strikes to the arm side. The change up had the correct action and fade to it, clocked at 63-65 mph. Times to the plate were at 1.47. Projects for me as more of a position guy, interesting prospect, good follow, strength with the bat.
