6/20/18

5-foot-11, 170-pound, average athletic frame, has plenty of room to fill out, all movements and actions are loose and work freely. A right-handed hitting two-way player. Off the mound, has a simple, repeatable, in line delivery. The hands start and stay high, leg kick is controlled, gets to a good gather, squares up on release of the baseball. The arm action is clean, average path on the backside, works out of a natural ¾ slot. Showed to be able to throw three pitches for strikes. The fastball reached 82 mph, with more in there, life and whip to the armside, worked in the bottom half of the zone, baseball bottoms out, creating ground balls. Threw more of a slurvy breaking ball, 11/5 action and depth, clocked at 65-69 mph. The change up was at 74 mph, bit firm, tweak of finger placement will create more velo off of it. Worked quick between pitches, times to the plate were at 1.32 in set position. At the plate, feet are even at shoulder width, hands are set slightly lower, bottom half is under control, small leg kick for timing and shifts weight backwards for trigger. The swing is level to up, approach is more from gap to gap, stayed middle of the field. The tee exit velocity was clocked at 83 mph and ran a 7.23 sixty, showed an athletic kick. Batting practice rounds were solid, made hard contact. Defensively, arm action is short and clean, clocked at 73 mph across the diamond, with more in there as he adds strength. The hands are average, first step was good in both directions. Projects for me off the mound, love the ability to locate fastball down in the zone, and feel the breaking pitch will develop into an out pitch as he gains strength. Definite prospect off the mound.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.23

Exit Velocity: 83 mph

Arm Velocity: 73 mph

7/18/17

5-foot-11, 170-pound, average athletic frame. The shoulders are rounded, a well proportioned athlete, still has room to add and to fill out. A two-way player, performed well on both sides of the field. At the plate hits from the right side, the stance is balanced, relaxed and works freely. The hands are set above the shoulder, with the bat having tilt to it. The front foot is slightly open, shorter, taller stance. For timing uses a small controlled leg kick, gains ground with stride foot, transfers the weight from back side to front. The swing is level to up, and finishes high with two hands, rolls the hands late and stays through the baseball. The tee exit velocity was 88 mph, swing and barrel have life to it out front. Defensively, has good feet, they work well with hands, keeps them moving throughout, works from the ground up. The hands are soft, fields out front, transfer is clean, the arm action has average length to it for a middle infielder, works out of a natural ¾ slot.  The arm was clocked at 77mph, showed to have enough strength to play on the left side of infield. Off the mound, this might be where he ends up. The delivery is compact and repeats it without much effort. Pounded the zone with multiple pitches, the fastball was clocked at 76-79 mph, locates the four seamer to glove side and showed the ability to run the two seamer to the arm side. The breaking ball was clocked at 61 -63 mph, had a bigger 11/5 break to it. Is athletic off the mound, fields his position well, has a good idea what he is doing on the mound. Solid follow, look for the velocity to continue to climb.

Home-First: 4.59

Exit Velocity: 88 MPH

Arm Velocity: 77 MPH

2/25/17

5-foot-10, 165-pound, average athletic frame, actions and movements are smooth, has plenty of room to fill out. A right-handed pitcher who has made a significant jump in velocity. The delivery is repeatable, has tempo to it, gets inline and squares up on the release. The arm works out of a high ¾ slot, pitches downhill, located down in the zone. The fastball was clocked at 77-79 mph, has action to the arm side. The breaking ball has slurvy break to it, thrown for strikes and can use it as a putaway pitch, clocked at 62-64 mph, it's a quality pitch. The changeup was clocked at 70-71 mph, needs to gain more feel with it. Times to the plate were good at 1.25, was able to sustain velocity and throw quality pitches from the set.  Offensively, at the plate, hits from the right side, is balanced throughout. The feet are wider than shoulder width, slightly open, and hands are loaded up with the bat having tilt to it. The approach is more middle to opposite, does a very good job of keeping hands inside the baseball. The swing path is flat through the zone, stays on it through contact. Defensively, uses his legs well, gets around the baseball fields out front and moves throughout. The arm action is clean, clocked at 77 mph with carry to throws. Showed the ability to move well to both sides, double starts were on time, with rhythm to them. Projects for me more off the mound, but was impressive as a position player as well, time will tell which way he goes, solid follow.

Sixty-Yard Dash: 7.03

Exit Velocity: 82 mph

Arm Velocity: 77 mph

7/27/16

5-foot-9, 145-pound, thin athletic frame, arms show to be long, has plenty of room to fill out. On the mound this right-hander, has a delivery that is simple and repeats it with little effort. The hands start and stay mid chest and leg raise is smooth. The arm action is short, clean and works well, he comes out of a natural ¾ slot. The fastball was 72-74 mph, with action to the arm side, with a ton more in there. The breaking ball had good spin, clocked at 61-62 mph, had 11/5 break. Slowed down on changeup was at 67-68 mph, easy fix with reps and long toss. The lower half could get in line a bit more, throws across his body, doesn't affect him, gets back to square on release. Times to plate were good at 1.12, showed good tempo and worked fast, was aggressive attacking the catcher and hitter. Strength is a must and solid throwing program and velocity should climb.
