One of the Top Catchers in the State. Worked from the stretch. Balanced waist high leg lift, slight coil, toe down. Easy delivery motion Tall to Fall delivery. Stride foot opens with push through momentum. Some glove side leverage. Short high arc on back side with full extension through high 3⁄4 release. FB 83-84, showed some Arm side run. SL 67-68 Gradual downward break, CH 75 Aggressive arm speed. Looks comfortable and has arm strength
5/25/20
Positional Profile: C / RHP Body: 6-1 180 Run: 7.26 Hit: Switch RHH Open stance in stacked position. Stride has length and is in line. Hands are high, bat head has tilt. Path is short, downward and through the zone with great extension. Strong rear side acceleration with lower half. Attacking hands. Great balance to finish. Middle of the field approach LHH Slightly open stance and remains stacked to backside. Arm angles maintained in loading process. Path of hands are direct to ball with great “to it and through” Lower half acceleration in sync with upper body. Exit Velo 90 Power: Tucker is lean and has a great mechanical swing from both sides. Would project he has ability to hit for AVG and Gap to Gap power as he progresses Arm: C Velo 68 Very quick back side arc and great catch to release quickness Defense: Great athleticism behind the plate. Excellent receiving skills, soft strong hands. Transition to throws is excellent with great footwork and momentum to 2B. Would consider Tucker to a on of the Top Prospects in the 2022 Colorado class.
8-4-18 5-foot-10, 160-pound switch hitting C/RHP who ran a 7.30 60. Talented 2022 who had a very good weekend. At the plate he is balanced with a long stride on the pitch. Swing was level through the zone and he squared up several balls both in the live round and in game action. Exit velocity was 81 mph. Behind the plate he plays older than he is. He controls innings and frames well. Arm was 72 mph with a 2.00 pop-time. On the mound he has a dimple motion. From balance he falls to the plate and release with good extension out front. Arm is from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was 79 mph with good command in and out. He added a 63-65 mph curve with 11/5 break as a good secondary pitch to keep hitters off balance.
7-18-18 5-foot-10, 160-pound right hand hitting C/RHP who ran a 7.30 60. At the plate he hits from a balanced stance with a slow load on the pitch. Good lower leg drive on the swing. Hands come through the zone and create good whip. Exit velocity was 73 mph. Behind the plate he showed soft hands and quick actions when framing. Feet are quick and he showed a quick transfer. Arm was accurate and 72 mph.
