Strong upside for Jonah. He continues to show improvement in refining mechanics and repeatable delivery. Great tempo in his delivery and leg lift has a coiled approach. Over the top release and Johnson stayed in the zone with all his pitches. Fastball topped out 85.8, with a curveball at 72.6 mph with 12/6 action. He also mixed in a changeup at 78 mph. Project continued development beyond high school.

8/15/20
Pitches from the stretch. Front side closed, front toe angled in and hips and shoulders start coiled. Leg lift with coil to balance. Lower half has a dip/drive delivery. Great glove side leverage and pull. Arm has short arc on the back side with extension and follow through. Fastball topped out at 82 mph and sat 79-82. The slider came in at 64 and the change was 72. Stayed in zone with all pitches and tries to work both sides of the plate. Good arm speed on changeup while the slider is still developing.
